TirPod
Common questions about the TirPod podcast app.
TirPod is a podcast app that plays podcasts and skips the ads. It's the app I built because I couldn't find one that did this well.
When you play an episode, TirPod analyzes the audio to find the ads, then skips those segments as you listen. It can take up to a minute to identify them. Downloading an episode ahead of time removes the ads before you listen.
Podcast ads are personalized to each listener based on advertisers tracking you, even the length can vary, so TirPod has to figure out exactly where each ad starts and ends before it can skip. On first play, ad-skip can take up to a minute.
No subscriptions or paid features today. Running the servers costs money, so if you'd like to help there is an optional tip in Settings → Support the Developer. Tips unlock nothing.
TirPod sells no subscriptions or paid features at this time; tips are purchases handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. For any billing or refund questions, use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com.
There's nothing to restore — tips are voluntary and don't gate any features, so reinstalling the app loses nothing. Apple keeps a record of your transactions under your Apple ID.
No. TirPod has no accounts and doesn't asks for your name or email.
Very little. On first launch a random per-install identifier is created and stored on your device. We log searches and ad-skip completions alongside it to improve the service and prevent abuse; records are kept about 90 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Episodes you download are stored on your device. Settings offers Wi-Fi only downloads and delete-after-playback. Downloaded episodes get ad-skip applied up front.
Podcasts stream from their original hosts, some of which are slow or flaky. If playback stutters or stalls, try downloading the episode instead of streaming it.
